Blank Canvas Productions is an exciting new venture in youth theatrical music production.

BCP is currently under development and in the process of securing funding to begin in the new academic year, but will ultimately serve the community of South Gloucestershire and surrounding areas with the aim of producing two large-scale musicals per year.

BCP will comprise four main production areas. These are Drama, Music, Art and Media/ICT.

The Drama and Music areas will largely work together and you can expect to develop your performance skills, improve your acting ability and grow confidence. You can also expect to have the opportunity to singing as a soloist or member of the chorus and/or become a member of the orchestral band.

Within the Art section of BCP, you can become involved with the design and creation of set, making high quality costumes and props, as well as contributing towards multi-media aspects of the production including photography and multi-media projection.

As a member belonging to the Media/ICT area of BCP, you will have responsibility for re-designing the BCP logo to represent its members and maintaining the website. There will be opportunities for you to become involved with poster, program & ticket design, as well as with digital photography, short filmmaking and multi-media projection. During show weeks, there will also be opportunities for you to assist with aspects of sound and lighting.

To be eligible for membership of BCP, you must:

• be in Year 6 at Primary School or aged 20 or under on the first day of the performance.
• be able to commit to production rehearsals/meetings once a week.
• be interested and enthusiastic about musical theatre production and have a real desire to belong to one of the four production areas outlined above.
